Media network player service sharing window

I then went to my PC to make sure everything was in order. I opened Windows Media Player and looked at the streaming options. Everything looked in order except that media streaming from my computer was not turned on for some reason. I clicked on "turn media streaming on" and it brought me to the Control Panel page for the option. It simply read "Media streaming is not turned on" along with the normal precautions and what not.

I clicked the button below "Turn media streaming on". This is where my problem appears. My computer loads and nothing happens. I tried a few more times and it then tells me what the question title says. It then prompts me to go to the administrator service tools. It was not running although it should be on automatically.

For example, if you had a Roku in one room and a PS4 in another, both of these devices could play the movies that are on the media server. Lets get started. First make sure you have an AC compatible wireless router Netgear AC ,computer or NAS Network Attached Storage Device and devices to access the data As you can see in the picture the router is surrounded by all the different devices.

Once you have the wireless network setup with the internet, the next step is to find a spot for the personal computer that is going to hold all of the files. This will give you a better connection. In this article I am going to explain how to share media files and office documents with a Windows 10 PC.

After you connect the PC to the router, please turn it on and find your way to the desktop. Now make sure that network discovery is turned on along with file sharing.

Also, this is where you set access rights to different devices. After that step if you want to store the media in a special location. After all is done, you can now access any of those media files you put into the location. Now find the folder to share files from and right click it and click on advanced sharing.

Remember when changing these options you need administrative permissions. I right clicked on the E drive. Next please name the share and leave the number of simultaneous alone.

This gives everyone access to the files but, they can only read them. I have Vista 64 SP2. The service runs for about 5 seconds and then I get the message that it stopped. It's been working fine for years sharing to my Xbox I'm guessing it stopped a few weeks ago after I put in a slightly faster CPU. I've looked a some tech posted and tried running the program that looks for corrupted system files but the only files it couldn't fix had to do with the windows sidebar.

I've deleted and reattached my media extender, I thought it was working because I saw from my xbox the pictures, videos, and music thumbnails counting up as they were added and I could see them. But if I pick one it freezes for several seconds then says the media sharing service was terminated or something like that. I then go to my PC and see that it's stopped. I can restart it but it only lasts seconds. Just an empty server folder.

I started them. The error still persists. The error on the xbox is when I pick a song or playlist to play if freezes for about 20 seconds and then says the connection to media center has been lost, and it restarts itself. IF I do the dump the 1st program listed is wmpntwrk. Let me add this.
