Ps2 survival horror game list

This creates a ton of tension that makes for one riveting and terrifying PS2 horror title. The fourth chapter in the Resident Evil series was a marked departure from the previous games.

It did away with the fixed camera points, opting instead for a dynamic free camera system that better suited the action. The gameplay had also undergone a major overhaul, designed to make the player feel claustrophobic and unsafe at all times. It became one of the scariest games on the PS2, as well as that generation of gaming in particular.

The haunting setting, monstrous enemies and a constant state of panic and dread helped make Resident Evil 4 one of the staples of the franchise, and a horror game worth the price of admission. It also influenced a ton of future horror games, including Dead Space. Silent Hill may have started out as a surprise horror hit on the PlayStation, but it really hit its stride with the sequel. Silent Hill 2 was a horror game unlike any other, driven by macabre and terrifying visuals that came straight out of the darkest minds of the developer team.

The story of Silent Hill is one based on psychological terror and the horrors that a damaged mind can conjure up. It's bloody, atmospheric, and full of tension and dread, and it gave gamers a whole new reason to fear the darkness of the human mind.

Kuon is one of the most atmospheric horror games on the PS2, weaving a unique setting together with an ominous story, and gameplay that feels almost dream-like. The use of ambient sound as opposed to music is a nice touch, lending Kuon an immersive air that draws players in. The story revolves around Sakuya, a young disciple of Doman Ashiya, an exorcist who is charged with investigating a manor said to be cursed. Sakuya must face down a number of supernatural horrors using magic and melee attacks, and there are plenty of them.

Kuon is an underrated PS2 horror classic. When it first came out, Rule of Rose was unjustly attacked by would-be censors and bad-faith actors trying to smear its content. It was banned in some European countries for supposedly showcasing child violence, as well as other accusations which proved not to be true in the slightest. In reality, Rule of Rose was simply a psychological horror game that focused on a young girl as the protagonist. One of the reasons for why it sold so well was the selection of games that it had, be it ports or exclusives.

Some games, however, didn't get to become a popular choice among gamers at the time due to how rare they were. In this list, we will take a look at 10 of the rarest games for PlayStation 2, as well as what their prices are.

Keep in mind that the prices gathered can change over time due to supply and demand, but since these games are so rare we doubt they will get any cheaper. While it kept the basic concept of an anime-esque RPG with battle and puzzle elements, other parts such as the environments, story, party members, and music were changed.

An interesting concept, to say the least, Samurai Western is an adventure-action game in which you control a samurai that travels to the Wild West in order to hunt down his brother.

It is possible that due to the outlandish premise, the game didn't get so many copies, as well as good reviews. Although it received mixed reviews, the premise of the game alone is enough to get anyone curious no doubt.

Undoubtedly one of the favorites among Dragon Ball fans, Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 offered an abundance of content for fans of the franchise and fighting games alike. What was so impressive about Tenkaichi 3 was the huge roster of fighters that players could choose from, cl0cking in at 98 characters, as well as forms, making it a fighting game with one of the biggest rosters upon release. Tenkaichi 3 got good reviews from those who played it, so buying a legitimate copy just might be worth it to big fans of Dragon Ball.

Fighting games, especially arcade-style 2D ones are a great way to either let off some steam or to have fun with friends by testing your skills against each other.

Some of these aren't cheap, so getting them for the sole purpose of playing them for fun every once in a while might not be the best decision.

Capcom vs SNK 2 is one such game that took what the original had and turned it up to an 11 by changing up the fighting system, as well as expanding the roster. Although a loose copy of the game isn't too expensive, an unopened one is quite costly, so it's probably a good idea to get a new one only as a collector's piece. Echo Night Beyond is another game on this list with a premise so bizarre that players can't help but become curious to know more. This game features strong occult imagery and is filled with monsters from your nightmares.

Spirits and Spells is likely a game that you haven't heard of but bares to be mentioned due to its whimsical Halloween vibes. While Spirits and Spells is most certainly not a horror game in the traditional sense, it brings to the table the perfect fall time, Halloween feeling replete with ghosts, monsters, and demons.

Spirits and Spells is a traditional 3d platformer starring Alicia and Greg who are out looking for a mansion filled with goodies. Taking place across a diverse and spooky set of locations, you must jump and attack the creatures of the night that get in your way, all for the love of Halloween candy. The Haunted Mansion game which happens to be inspired by the movie of the same name which was in turn inspired by the Disneyland and Disneyworld ride is a fun family-friendly take on a haunted house game.

While the game is aimed at a younger audience, there are plenty of ghosts and ghouls roaming the halls to bring a small fright your way. In The Haunted Mansion game, you play as Zeke, a lanky and misunderstood character who happens to find himself locked in the titular mansion. During your time playing you must uncover and release the trapped souls who reside there in order to make it out yourself. It's a more lighthearted affair but filled with plenty of spooky goodness.

Just saying Buffy the Vampire Slayer instantly conjures up thoughts of all things that go bump in the night. Chaos Bleeds was the sequel to the original Buffy game this time tasking you to stop Ethan Rayne and an evil presence known as the First. The First is literally the first evil that the world has known so it's up to Buffy and her pals to stop this chaos. What makes Chaos Bleeds such a wonderful horror-type game is that you are constantly battling vampires, monsters, and demons.

This game stood out because it featured a fun multiplayer mode so you could take on the creepy creatures with a friend or two in tow. While most game generations have been graced with a Scooby-Doo game of sorts, Night of Frights might just be the best a bringing a horror feel to the otherwise family-friendly affair.

In this action-adventure game, Scooby and the gang must explore a haunted mansion, derelict docks, a spooky hedge maze, and much more. Night of Frights isn't a revolutionary experience, instead, focusing on a platformer-type experience with plenty of Scooby snacks and goodies to collect.

The locations are music are what stand out in this game making it feel like a light-hearted, yet often creepy Scooby adventure.
